As a pastor for 24 years, he has averaged 65 baptisms each year. He has been the pastor of four churches that has seen significant growth in evangelism. His preaching is evangelistic, expository, enthusiastic and conservative to the core. He has been a leader in evangelism in the Georgia Baptist Convention, the Alabama Baptist State Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
